Carisha J.

Carisha, a host, publicist, and journalist, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and raised in New Jersey. From an early age, she had a deep passion for media—writing for her school newspaper and conducting interviews in her mother’s living room while still in grade school. Growing up alongside her twin sister, Carisha always knew she was destined for more than her surroundings.

She launched her career by producing fashion shows and conducting interviews at those events, eventually taking her talents to Atlanta in 2013. According to Carisha, moving to Atlanta was the moment “the diva was born.” Before recording live shows, she worked as a waitress, but when the pandemic shut down restaurants, it became the unexpected opportunity that pushed her to begin recording her own live productions.

Knowing that being a diva meant looking the part, Carisha leaned into her persona, drawing inspiration from Beyoncé—who remains a major influence on her style, confidence, and presence. Her first live show took place in Stone Mountain, Georgia, with an audience of just nine people. With no professional audio equipment and only one camera operator, Carisha and her team made it work. From that moment on, her audience continued to grow, and Live With Carishaevolved into a movement.

Her first celebrity interview was with rapper Foogiano during the pandemic. While she admits to feeling nervous when interviewing major figures, Carisha says the excitement fuels her hunger to keep going. Episodes of Live With Carishahave appeared on American Nu Network, Dame Dash’s platform, and the show is currently featured on The Big Facts Network.

Inspired by media icons such as Wendy Williams, Arsenio Hall, Chris Anderson, Anderson Cooper, and Mario Lopez, Carisha believes she is only getting started. She envisions Live With Carisha becoming a nationally syndicated platform.

Her most recent accomplishment is earning her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Georgia. Carisha believes that the combination of her credibility as a trained journalist and her unapologetic diva persona is what truly sets her apart in the industry.

“You only live one life. You owe it to yourself to make something of it—because your ancestors didn’t have that chance.”
